| Why Do I Need An
Interspeak Work Placement? |
Interspeak has been arranging work placements in Europe since
1981. We have the experience and the knowledge to help you
achieve a good standard of foreign language ability, which
will be of immense use to you in your future career.
If you are studying languages and want to live and have work
experience in France, Germany, Spain and Great Britain, Interspeak
will help you to do just that. We will ask you what career
you may have in mind or what subjects you are good at and
arrive at an informed decision as to what type of placement
you need. For example, as international law is popular at
the moment you could try a law placement before you embark
on a course of study, to see if it’s for you.

| What Type Of
Placement Could I Have? |
Mini placements last for 2 weeks and provide younger students
with an opportunity to live and work in another country.
Our standard placements, designed for students aged 18+, can
last from 3 to 24 weeks and are available at most times of
the year.
Types of placements vary. We can put some categories before
you, such as marketing, law, computers, travel, journalism,
hotels, banking, shop work, restaurants, working with children.
But there are so many different
types! Last year we had a student who worked with a fashion
photographer in Paris, one who chose to teach in France, another
who enjoyed working in a theatre in Germany. Tell us what
you want and we will try our best. All we ask is you give
us 3 choices.
Please also note that certain operating authorities for the
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme have accepted Interspeak work
placements towards the residential part of the award.

How Do I Book
An Interspeak Placement?
|
To actually book with Interspeak, we need to have your completed
booking form, with your registration fee of £80, 4photographs,
your CV in English and in the appropriate foreign language
and a letter of motivation in both languages saying why you
want to visit and work in that country. We will read through
your application, then e-mail confirming your booking. We
will then bill you for your placement fee. You should treat
this venture as an investment for your future. Please note,
firms nowadays do not usually pay students, as they give of
their time and experience.
Once we have found you the placement, we will discuss it
with you. Then we will find you your host family (if required).
The host family accommodation payment is the final payment
you will send to us. This is payable before you travel.
Lastly, we ask you to fill in a travel form, which you send
to us on a fax or e-mail. We will see that this information
is sent to our representative in the foreign country, who,
in turn, informs the host family, so that there will be someone
to give you a warm welcome at the nearest airport or train
station.
Contact us now and in a short time your life could change for
ever!
